2016 Writing: Klaus

Klaus     (THIS IS ALL FICTION)

 

1939 August 24th: Klaus was a normal sixteen year old living with his parents with a fair pay. Klaus was a happy boy, until a speech from his parents changed him, it was about joining World War Two. How Klaus reacted was really shocking to his parents. Klaus packed his bags and left. He was at the edge of town living with some hardly paid farmers for a week, but that night he heard some sounds of bombs whistling and exploding through the air, he tried sleeping through it but it was too loud so he ran out to see what was happening. Just as he ran five metres away from the house, a bomb exploded right at the structure pushing Klaus from it. Which was now destroyed when he whacked his head on the ground he realised running away was a terrible mistake. He went back home but instead of having a nice fire and cooked food he found his mother on the floor with blood on her forehead as bricks clashed between her head.

 

1939 September 2nd: War had started without Klaus knowing he found a survival camp where he met his friend Steven, he convinced him to come instead of being blown up by rest of world parts or Europe but he ran all the way to a retired train track and had dinner there, but Steven was a lover for meat, he ate it without cooking, since it was chicken it was extremely dangerous. Steven felt sick like he was going vomit, he puked vomit, but it wasn’t ordinary since he actually coughed up blood, Klaus you would probably imagine what he did. He was screaming like he was trying to get a message to god, Steven was on the floor opened eyes and blood on his shirt and chin.

 

1939 October 5th: Klaus had left him near the edge of a canyon and pushed him down you could see a splatter of blood at the bottom of it. He ran off with some of the things Steven took with him as well. Klaus had found a sign that read ‘Docks five miles’, he was in great joy when he had read the sign he would move from war zones and just go to a different country he started to run but since he wasn’t that energetic he just had two barley sugars to keep him going, he had about ten of them in his pocket

 

1939 October 20th: Klaus had found himself at the docks with two barley sugars left. The thing that Klaus was struggling with was which boat was he going to go on and where. He looked at all the boats there were ones going to England, Brazil, Australia, Russia and other parts of Germany and one of the boats were faded out he thought it was Greece but once he got on that very boat and it started to go he knew that he was going to Portugal but after two hours he got bored hiding so he went out for some food he saw cooked fish he ripped a piece, but the sailor saw him ripping pieces off one at a time, so the sailor got a shotgun out and Klaus reached out and the sailor shot his arm off he was screaming and muttering “I’m going to die, I’m going to die” repeatedly.

 

1939 November 2nd: Klaus took classes to speak Portuguese he did his exams on September 1st but since war started he couldn’t finish but he was the best in his class he he was sure that he would get it right. That night he went to the ‘Centro de adoção’ which was an adoption centre to ask if anyone was willing for a sixteen year old boy from Germany they said they had a man in his forties but that’s the only one. Klaus took the risk of having a stranger as his father, when the man came Klaus had already fallen asleep.

 

1939 November 3rd: It was eight ‘o’clock in the morning Klaus had waken up in a nice silk duvet and a nice bedroom he found clothes that fit him only so he thought they were his. He walked downstairs to a lovely smell in the kitchen and greeted the man who adopted him and identified him as his actual father he remembered that he couldn’t find his father on the floor when the house was bombed. Klaus still missed his mum killed by the enemies of Germany but he still lived a really nice life.
